Our Level-Up Leadership program helps aspiring executive leaders develop skills to motivate and manage staff in the corrections and law enforcement industry, including discussions on mental health, media, agency staff culture, and specific leadership qualities.

Keynote Speaker
Congressman Troy E. Nehls (R-TX-22)
We are honored to welcome Congressman Troy E. Nehls (R-TX-22) as the keynote speaker for our upcoming leadership training. As a top Law Enforcement and Corrections Administrator/Sheriff in a large Texas Sheriff’s Office, Congressman Nehls will bring a wealth of experience to the discussion of leadership challenges in the industry. In addition, he will share insights on the January 6th assault on the DC Capitol and Capitol Police, as well as his book, The Big Fraud by Troy Nehls. Attendees can expect to gain valuable knowledge and insights from his presentation.

Marc Coudriet
Marc Coudriet is a distinguished PREA Auditor and Corrections Expert with a remarkable career spanning over 26 years in the field. As a subject matter expert in both ACA and PREA audits, he has consistently demonstrated his in-depth understanding of the industry, successfully navigating complex regulatory environments.
Dr. Connie Almeida
Dr. Connie Almeida, a psychologist and Licensed Specialist in School Psychology, has over 35 years of experience in mental health and developmental disabilities. As the founding Director of Fort Bend County’s Behavioral Health Services Department, her expertise includes integrated care and forensic psychological services.
Dr. Jay O Coons PhD
Dr. Coons, a retired practitioner with 36 years of experience at the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, is now an assistant professor of practice in criminal justice at Sam Houston State University. With expertise in leadership, ethics, and resource development, he has also been recognized as an expert witness in law enforcement and jail issues in Texas and federal court systems.
Chad Norvell
Chad Norvell, a US Marine Corps Veteran, has 26 years of law enforcement experience and now serves as the Constable for Precinct 1 in Fort Bend County since January 1, 2021. Holding a degree in Organizational Leadership and graduating from Police Staff and Command College, he has spoken at workshops both nationally and internationally.
